Know what to report

Use Union Pacific's official guidance when a new diagnosis, recent event or change in a stable condition may affect fitness for duty.

Reportable Health Events

Appendix B explains which cardiovascular, neurological, vision, hearing, diabetes and sleep-apnea events covered employees must report, along with the steps to take before returning to work.

Teladoc virtual care

Eligible members can use Teladoc for a $10 virtual appointment and receive a doctor's note by email when documentation is needed.

Family sick days may not qualify. For recurring conditions, ask your union representative about FMLA.

Peer support

Confidential help is available if you or a coworker is struggling with addiction, depression or another difficult situation.

Union Pacific employees support safer work through the employee-managed Total Safety Culture program, emphasizing training, observation and feedback.
